My story...
The 'boys' (my husband and best man) are walking the South West Coast path leaving me some moments of indulgence to enjoy the delights of Heligan gardens.
Where am I? Lost Gardens of Heligan Address: The Lost Gardens of Helgan, Pentewan, St Austell, Cornwall, PL26 6EN
About:
There is so much to see and to do: Victorian Productive gardens of vegetables, fruits and flowers; The jungle - raised walkways through banana trees, rhododendrons and lots of tropical plants; a play area for the children, acres of pastures for cattle and sheep, hens and donkey stable; the Italian Garden and so much more. In the 1990's I had the pleasure of attending one of the first-ever musical evening events in the walled Victorian pineapple garden and have watched the gardens grow from their humble beginnings to the glorious restored gardens, shops, and restaurants they are today.
A little History....
Heligan is one of the most mysterious estates in England. Lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of WW1, this Sleeping Beauty was re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Today Heligan’s 200 acres are a paradise for the explorer, wildlife, plant lover and garden romantic.
