Mapping Ocean plastic pollution – driving solutions
I am delighted to have been selected to join eXXpedition’s South Pacific III Voyage from Tongatapu to Vava’u. I start my voyage in Tongatapu on 2nd June as part of an all-women sailing expedition researching plastic pollution in our oceans and back to its sources on land.
Previous voyages demonstrated the many different ways plastic pollution enters the ocean and that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. eXXpedition identified an urgent need for place-based, context-specific data to drive local, tailored solution.so that’s where we come in!
I received my first online training material this week so from an exciting idea it is suddently becoming real! I can’t wait to get started. Looking forward to sharing my journey – stay tuned!
